Hong Kong Customs has been maintaining a close Customs-to-business partnership with the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Industry. For exploring the possibility of extending the partnership on trade facilitation front, officer of Office of Supply Chain Security Management (OSCS) of the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department (C&ED) gave an in-depth presentation on the Hong Kong Authorized Economic Operator (HKAEO) Programme at the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Alliance (IPRPA) Seminar today (16 October 2019).
The seminar provided a platform for traders within the IPRPA to understand how the HKAEO Programme helps enhance international supply chain security and facilitate the flow of legitimate goods. Accredited as a HKAEO will be recognized as a trust partner of C&ED and will enjoy various benefits including reduced customs inspection and prioritized customs clearance.
OSCS will maintain a close contact with the IPR industry and different stakeholders by organizing various seminars and training workshop with an aim to further promote the HKAEO Programme.
