Apart from law enforcement such as narcotics interdiction, interception of smuggling activities, protection and collection of revenue on dutiable goods, protection of intellectual property rights and consumer interests, and anti-money laundering, C&ED has endeavoured to safeguard national security, facilitate legitimate trade and industry, uphold Hong Kong's trading integrity and fulfil related international obligations. We are also the authorities to supervise money service operators and dealers in precious metals and stones to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance.
