In an attempt to seize greater business opportunities for local traders, Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department (C&ED), Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs of Trade and Industry Department (SUCCESS) and MATRADE Hong Kong co-organized a seminar today (5 November 2019) on “Developing ASEAN Market – Malaysia”. More than 100 participants attended the seminar.
During the seminar, representative from the Office of Supply Chain Security Management of C&ED gave an in-depth presentation on the latest development of the HKAEO Programme and how the HKAEO Programme helps enterprises to develop ASEAN market. Ms. Ezzwanne Ahmad, Malaysian Trade Commissioner was invited to share the business landscape and latest trade promotion policy of Malaysia. Besides, speakers from SUCCESS and the Hong Kong Productivity Council respectively introduced the Rules of Origin under the Hong Kong, China – ASEAN Free Trade Agreement, and the “ASEAN Programme” under the Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales (BUD Fund).
With the increasing importance of the ASEAN market, C&ED will maintain close contact with foreign consulates to further promote the HKAEO Programme.
