To modernize and upgrade the scope and quality of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programmes for securing and facilitating legitimate trade, officer from the Office of Supply Chain Security Management (OSCS) of Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department (C&ED) participated in the Asia Pacific regional workshop (the Workshop) on raising awareness on the development of regional cooperation and strategy on Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) organized by the World Customs Organization between 16 and 20 December 2019 in Kashiwa, Japan.
Twenty-five AEO experts from twenty Customs administrations joined the Workshop and had an in-depth discussion on regional cooperation and strategy to address the need to have a more focused and targeted way to further secure and facilitate global trade. OSCS officer delivered a presentation sharing the best practices of Hong Kong in AEO implementation and promotion strategies.
OSCS will maintain close contact with other Customs administrations for AEO programme enhancement, so as to strengthen C&ED’s role as Economic Development Promoter in the global economy.
