Hong Kong Customs yesterday (June 15) seized 7.5 kilograms of suspected ketamine and arrested one man in San Tin. The market value of the seizure was about $900,000.
The 16-year-old arrestee, claiming to be a baker, was charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. The arrestee will appear at the Fanling Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (June 17).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
