At the invitation of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), officers of the Ports and Maritime Command (PMC) attended a workshop with the theme “Exploring China’s Import Opportunities via Shanghai Platform” and introduced the FTA Scheme to representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on 1 November 2019, which aimed to explore business opportunities arising from enormous import market in Shanghai and how Hong Kong’s SMEs tap into the market of the Mainland China.
Around 70 participants from various industries attended the workshop where PMC officer delivered an in-depth presentation on the FTA Scheme and how it facilitates cargoes transhipped through Hong Kong heading for Shanghai to apply for preferential tariff. PMC will maintain close contact with stakeholders and seize every opportunity to promote the FTA Scheme to different industries.
