Outreach Publicity on FTA Scheme – Thematic Sharing Session for Hong Kong New Territories Manufacturers Association

12 Dec 2024

On 12 December 2024, Hong Kong Customs held a thematic sharing session for the Hong Kong New Territories Manufacturers Association (NTMA) on "Closer Business Exchange in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA)".

The session featured informative presentations on four key Customs trade facilitation schemes, namely, the Free Trade Agreement Transhipment Facilitation Scheme (FTA Scheme), the Hong Kong Authorized Economic Operator Programme, the Single E-lock Scheme, and the Air-Land Fresh Lane.

Responsible officers from various commands of Hong Kong Customs, including the Ports and Maritime Command (PMC), provided an overview of respective trade facilitation schemes and how they could be used to help the trade to enhance competitiveness and capture future growth opportunities in the GBA. Over 40 members of the NTMA attended the sharing session.

Hong Kong Customs has implemented the FTA Scheme since December 2015, to provide traders with Customs supervision service and issue the Certificate of Non-manipulation for the purpose of claiming a preferential tariff under trade agreements signed between the Mainland of China and its trading partners.

If your association is interested in learning more about the FTA Scheme or would like to have an outreach programme arranged, please feel free to contact our Free Trade Agreement Transhipment Facilitation Unit at 3152 0233 or email to fta_enquiry@customs.gov.hk.
