On 23 February 2024, Hong Kong Customs and the Cambodia Business Center co-hosted a seminar titled "Cambodia-Hong Kong Business Environment Exchange" to promote the Free Trade Agreement Transhipment Facilitation Scheme (FTA Scheme) and the Hong Kong Authorized Economic Operator Programme (HKAEO Programme) to members of the Center and Cambodia business representatives.
An officer of the Ports and Maritime Command (PMC) delivered a presentation on the FTA Scheme, in which he introduced the background, latest development, application procedures and most of all, the tangible benefits to traders in terms of tariff concessions from joining the Scheme. Officers of the Office of Trade Relations and Public Communication also introduced the details and benefits brought by the HKAEO Programme, such as reduction in inspection rate and priority clearance services.
Hong Kong Customs will continue to maintain close contact and work in tandem with the trade and stakeholders on initiatives to promote the FTA Scheme, facilitating more cargoes passing through Hong Kong to enjoy preferential tariff treatments under FTAs signed between the Mainland of China and other economies.
If your association is interested in learning more about the FTA Scheme or would like to have an outreach programme arranged, please feel free to contact our Free Trade Agreement Transhipment Facilitation Unit at 3152 0233 or email to fta_enquiry@customs.gov.hk.
