Hong Kong Customs arrested an outgoing male passenger and three other male suspects at Hong Kong International Airport today (February 3) and seized about two kilograms of suspected methamphetamine valued at about $0.59 million.
Acting on information, officers of Customs Drug Investigation Bureau intercepted a male who was about to depart for Tokyo, Japan this morning. Examination of a piece of his hand-carry suitcase led to the discovery of a pack of suspected methamphetamine concealed inside the false compartment at the bottom of the suitcase. Officers of Customs Drug Investigation Bureau then arrested the male. Another three males who accompanied the male and suspected to have involved in the case were also arrested for investigation.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence and the maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
