Hong Kong Customs yesterday (January 21) seized about three kilograms of suspected methamphetamine at Hong Kong International Airport and arrested two men. The total market value of the drugs was about $950,000.
During an anti-narcotic operation at Hong Kong International Airport yesterday, Customs officers intercepted two men and found about three kilograms of suspected methamphetamine concealed in two biscuit boxes inside the handbag one man carried.
The arrested men, aged 20 and aged 24, were charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug. They will appear at Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (January 23).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
