Hong Kong Customs yesterday (December 23) arrested a 34-year-old man at Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point after finding 200 grams of methamphetamine in his possession with an estimated retail value of about $150,000.
Yesterday afternoon, Customs officers intercepted an incoming male passenger in the customs arrival hall at Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point. The man was searched and the methamphetamine was found concealed beneath his underpants.
The arrested person has been charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at Shatin Magistrates' Courts today (December 24).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
