The Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Ms Louise Ho, today (May 18) met the Mayor of the Zhuhai Municipal Government, Mr Huang Zhihao, to exchange views on pressing ahead with the development of the new trade corridor of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) in the Customs Headquarters Building.
Ms Ho welcomed Mr Huang's visit to Hong Kong Customs with his delegation and chaired a meeting with the delegation of the Zhuhai Municipal Government. During the meeting, they discussed multiple issues, including promotion of cargo shipment among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and better utilisation of clearance facilitation measures of the HZMB, with an aim to enhance and uphold Hong Kong's position as an international logistics hub and to bring opportunities for the cargo logistics development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Hong Kong Customs will continue to strengthen collaboration and communication with relevant Mainland departments and authorities, actively engage in the development of the GBA, and implement a diverse range of trade facilitation measures in a timely manner to build a beneficial business environment in the area.
