Hong Kong Customs yesterday (September 26) seized 5 kilograms of suspected ketamine and arrested one man in Yuen Long. The market value of the seizure was about $730,000.
The arrestee, aged 17 and claiming to be unemployed, was charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. The arrestee will appear at the Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (September 28).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
