Hong Kong Customs seized about 2 kilograms of suspected ketamine, with a market value of about $240,000, at Lo Wu Control Point yesterday (July 7) and arrested a 20-year-old woman.
Customs officers intercepted an incoming passenger at Lo Wu Control Point last night and found the suspected drugs inside a reusable bag she was carrying.
The arrested woman, claiming to be unemployed, was charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
