Hong Kong Customs today (July 15) seized 6 kilograms of suspected ketamine and arrested three men in an anti-narcotics operation in Lau Fau Shan. The market value of the seizure was about $700,000.
Customs officers intercepted a private vehicle on Deep Bay Road in Lau Fau Shan this morning and found the suspected ketamine in the car. The three persons on board were arrested.
The three men, aged between 20 and 27, were charged jointly with trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at the Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (July 16).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
