Hong Kong Customs today (January 21) seized about 750 grams of suspected heroin with an estimated market value of about $650,000 at Lo Wu Control Point.
Customs officers intercepted an incoming male passenger at Lo Wu Control Point at noon today and found two slabs of suspected heroin weighing about 750 grams in total in the paper bag carried by him. The 59-year-old man was then arrested.
Investigation is ongoing.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
