Hong Kong Customs today (November 25) seized about 1.8 kilogrammes of suspected cannabis buds during an anti-narcotics operation in Tuen Mun. The market value of the seizure was about $330,000. A man was arrested.
Customs officers today afternoon intercepted a man who was taking out object from the boot of a private vehicle on Ng Lau Road in Tuen Mun and found the suspected cannabis buds inside the boot. The man was arrested at the scene.
The man, aged 30, claimed to be a transport worker.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
