Hong Kong Customs officers yesterday (March 16) at Lok Ma Chau Control Point seized about 3.1 kilogrammes of methamphetamine with two men arrested. The market value of the drugs was about $2.22 million.
Customs officers yesterday afternoon seized the dangerous drugs while searching an incoming cross boundary truck. Two men on the spot were arrested.
The arrestees, aged 47 and 52, both claimed to be truck drivers. They were put on bail pending further investigation.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is up to life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
