Japanese copyright industry thanks HK Customs for its anti-piracy efforts (with photo)

The Head of Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau, Mr Ben Ho (left), today (March 19) on behalf of the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department receives an appreciation plaque from the Chairman of the Content Japan Mark Committee, Mr Takero Goto, for the department’s anti-piracy enforcement in the protection of the copyrighted Japanese music, films and TV programmes.
With the assistance of the Content Japan Mark Committee, a subsidiary of the Content Overseas Distribution Association, Hong Kong Customs launched a series of enforcement actions last month (February), targeting the sale of pirated optical discs of Japanese copyright works. A total of 10,630 pirated optical discs, worth $240,000, were seized. Three persons were arrested.
