Hong Kong Customs officers mounted an anti-narcotic operation last night (September 5) in Sheung Shui and intercepted two local males, aged 15 and 16, with each of them carrying 1 kilogram of ketamine. The drugs had an estimated street value of about $230,000.
The two men have been charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at the Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (September 7).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence, and offenders are liable to a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
