Hong Kong Customs seized a total of 4.122 kilogrammes of suspected ketamine with an estimated retail value of $480,000 at Lok Ma Chau Control Point today (June 8). One man aged 45 was arrested.
Today at around 10.30am, Customs Officers intercepted a suspicious man for inspection at the Customs Arrival Hall of Lok Ma Chau Control Point, and found over 4 kilogrammes of suspected ketamine inside the shoulder bag and left front pocket of the trousers of the said man.
The man has been charged with "Trafficking in a dangerous drug" and will appear at Fanling Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (June 9).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
