Hong Kong Customs and the Tax Administration Service of the United Mexican States exchanged a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding Co-operation and Mutual Administrative Assistance at a ceremony today (March 31) to pledge further collaboration in combating transnational Customs offences.
The MOU, signed earlier separately by the Commissioner of Customs and Excise of Hong Kong, Mr Roy Tang, and the General Administrator for Foreign Trade Audit of the United Mexican States, Mr Luis Eduardo Lara Gutiérrez, signifies the mutual commitment and determination of both Customs administrations to co-operate more closely through mutual administrative assistance on information exchange and enforcement of Customs laws.
Mr Tang and the Consul-General of Mexico in Hong Kong and Macao, Mrs Alicia Buenrostro Massieu, exchanged the MOU at the ceremony today.
Hong Kong Customs has so far concluded similar co-operative instruments with 22 counterparts.
