Action Committee Against Narcotics visits Kwai Chung Customhouse

The Action Committee Against Narcotics (ACAN) members visited the Kwai Chung Customhouse on 21 February to learn about the enforcement work against maritime drug trafficking by Customs officers, how the department makes use of advanced examination equipment to assist its work, and watch a demonstration of Customs detector dogs carrying out their duty during cargo clearance.

The Chairman of the ACAN, Dr Donald Li, commended Hong Kong Customs’ relentless anti-drug efforts over the years. Dr Li and the ACAN members expressed full support for the department's upcoming assumption of the next WCO Vice-Chairperson for the Asia/Pacific Region this year, which would further consolidate the department’s leadership position in the global customs community.
