The Guangdong-Hong Kong "Single Submission for Dual Declaration" Scheme was launched on 1 February 2024 to promote Hong Kong's integration into national development and enhance the Greater Bay Area development. The Scheme allows traders to submit cargo information once for both Mainland and Hong Kong Customs declarations, streamlining the process, saving time and reducing cost. It also improves Customs clearance efficiency by expediting data receipt for both Customs administrations. The Scheme currently applies to cargo exported from the Mainland to Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port, and Hong Kong Customs aims to expand its coverage to further promote the interconnectivity and co-operation with Guangdong Customs.
