Inspector Li Wing-yee of Cross-boundary Bridge Command was the first Customs officer to be recommended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to become the United Nations(UN)Junior Professional Officer. Ms Li and 11 officers from other departments have started taking up positions in different agencies of the UN. She has taken up public relations and communications post at the UN Conference on Trade and Development since April for a year.
Ms Li joined Customs for 8 years and has been working in various frontline and administrative posts. She will bear in mind the Chief Executive's expectations to selected officers: to give their best in the international arena, to serve as the bridge between the country and the world,as well as to tell good stories of Hong Kong.
Ms Li will seize this opportunity to broaden her horizons and bring valuable experience to assist the department in better integrating into the global business environment and future development.
