To celebrate the 45th anniversary of the reform and opening up of the country, Customs YES organised a two-day exchange tour to the Greater Bay Area (GBA) on 18 and 19 March 2023. The Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Excise (Intelligence and Investigation), Mr Woo Wai-kwan, led 36 youth members to take part in the tour.
On the first day, they visited the offices of Shenzhen Forms Syntron Information Company Limited and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Co-operation Zone. Next day, the tour visited Guangming Tour Farm to gain a deeper understanding of the stringent inspection and quarantine work conducted on the importation of daily necessities into Hong Kong.
The Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Ms Louise Ho, and Executive Committee of Customs YES joined the visit to Shenzhen Museum and the headquarters of Shenzhen Media Group. Through a guided tour at the Shenzhen Museum, the delegates were impressed by how the GBA has scored remarkable achievements since the adoption of the policies of reform and opening-up. Youth members also experienced mock-up live broadcasts in the studios during their visit at headquarters of Shenzhen Media Group.
