On 9 July 2024, customs officials from Hong Kong, Guangdong, Shenzhen, Gongbei, and Macao met in Zhuhai to discuss collaboration in support of the new duty-free allowance for Mainland visitors.
The meeting focused on improving clearance management and enforcement co-operation. Three sides agreed to flexibly deploy manpower, monitor control points in real-time, and take necessary actions during peak travel periods to ensure the smooth operation of Customs clearance and facilitate passenger flow.
■ The meeting on enhancing collaboration in support of the new duty-free allowance for Mainland visitors between Hong Kong Customs, Guangdong Sub-Administration of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, the Shenzhen Customs District, the Gongbei Customs District and the Macao Customs Service was held.
