The Beijing Cultural Exchange Tour took place successfully in August, jointly organized by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, the Beijing Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Customs Office of the Police Liaison Department, and co-organized by the Staff Relations Group and various Staff Associations of Hong Kong Customs. A total of 22 children of Customs Staff, aged 12 and 19, participated in the four-day, three-night tour.
The itinerary included visits to Tiananmen Square for the flag-raising ceremony, the Beidou Navigation Application Base, the Great Wall and the China Customs Museum. Participants also met Olympic badminton champion, Mr Zhang Nan. The tour provided valuable insights into China's history and the Customs administrations of Mainland.
