"Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles" was successfully launched on 1 July 2023. To maintain the customs clearance efficiency in the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB), Hong Kong Customs has made proactive preparation and resource allocation.
Understanding that some drivers and passengers under the Scheme are first-time users of the cross-boundary facilities, promotional videos and leaflets were prepared to introduce the Customs clearance routes and procedures for private cars and a dedicated page was created on Customs website for public enquiry. In addition to a series of training and drills for frontline officers, Customs has closely co-operated with the Transport Department, other law enforcement agencies and Mainland Customs to facilitate the smooth implementation of the Scheme.
Customs will continue to monitor the traffic of the HZMB and deploy manpower and resources as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the control point.
