Following the launch of YouTube channel, Facebook page and Instagram account, Hong Kong Customs launched its official Douyin and WeChat accounts on 26 April and 1 July this year respectively. The two new social media platforms serve the purpose of further enhancing communication and connectivity between the department and members of the public. Apart from promoting the professional image, the platforms also help disseminating information about the multifaceted work and the latest information of Customs to more Hong Kong and Mainland citizens. On the launch dates, a number of new promotional videos and featured posts regarding common unfair trade practices and needs-to-know on Customs clearance under the “Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles” scheme, were published to enable Hong Kong citizens and Mainland tourists to grasp timely and useful relevant information.
