Between 25 and 27 May 2021, Office of Supply Chain Security Management (OSCS) attended the 5th WCO Global AEO Conference co-hosted virtually by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the UAE Customs. The virtual conference, participated by some 160 WCO member administrations, focused on bringing together Customs experts and relevant stakeholders for exchanging innovative ideas and visions, examining potential opportunities, and exploring the steps required to take the flagship AEO Programme to the next level.
Given the exceptional circumstances that the world was still facing, speakers and participants at the Conference were invited to share their experience and ideas on how the WCO’s SAFE Framework of Standards and AEO programmes can help drive the trade recovery; how power of advanced technologies could be harnessed to enable renewal, and how innovation could achieve a resilient and sustainable supply chain.
t was announced during the Conference that the General Administration of Customs, P.R. China will host the next Global AEO Conference in the spring of 2023.
