Officers from the Office of Supply Chain Security Management (OSCS) of the Customs and Excise Department attended the 25th SAFE Working Group (SWG) Meeting held virtually by the World Customs Organization (WCO) from 14 to 16 April 2021.
The SWG Meeting is an important international meeting organized by the WCO to provide a platform for the member administrations to deliberate on issues pertaining to the SAFE Framework of Standards (FoS) – the international standards guiding the implementation of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Programmes by member administrations worldwide. Among others, the SWG Meeting was responsible for endorsing the proposals to review the SAFE FoS, which would be conducted at every 3-year cycle. The Meeting was participated by 240 delegates representing Customs administrations, the private sectors and international organizations concerned.
OSCS will continue to actively engage in essential international discussions to keep abreast of the global development of the AEO Programme and Mutual Recognition Arrangements with a view to providing updated information and more facilitative measures to stakeholders in the global supply chain.
