Hong Kong Customs yesterday (March 7) seized about 8 kilograms of suspected ketamine with an estimated market value of about $4.7 million in Kowloon City. A man was arrested.
During an anti-narcotics operation conducted in the vicinity of Kowloon City last night, Customs officers intercepted a man and found the batch of suspected ketamine inside his backpack. The 35-year-old man was subsequently arrested.
An investigation is ongoing.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
