Hong Kong Customs seized about 160 grams of suspected heroin, with a market value of about $130,000, and arrested a man at Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point yesterday (October 25).
Customs officers intercepted an inbound passenger at Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point yesterday afternoon and found about 160g of suspected heroin taped to his waist.
The arrested man, aged 54, was charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug. He will appear at Fanling Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (October 27).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
